Who we are
Verion Partners Ltd (company number 09363545), Studio 4, Hazelrigg House, 33 Mare Fair, Northampton, NN1 1SR. We are the controller of the personal information we collect about you, which means we decide how and why it is used. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under reference ZA114143.
If you have a question about this policy or your information, email our data protection contact at dataprotection@verionpartners.com or write to: Data Protection, Verion Partners, Studio 4, Hazelrigg House, 33 Mare Fair, Northampton, NN1 1SR.
The information we collect
What we collect depends on how you use our services. It may include:
- your name, date of birth, address history and contact details
- identity documents and information we need to confirm who you are
- details of your family and dependants, where they are relevant to the advice
- employment, income, spending, savings, debts and credit history
- details of property you own or want to buy, and of any business you run
- existing mortgages, loans and insurance policies
- notes and recordings of our conversations, and copies of emails and letters
- what you send us through this website, such as your name, email, phone number and message
For protection insurance we may need information about your health, lifestyle and medical history. This is special category information and we treat it with extra care. We only collect it when it is needed to advise you on or arrange insurance, and we explain why before we ask for it.
Where your information comes from
Most of it comes from you. We may also receive information from people you have asked to deal with us, such as a joint applicant, your employer or your accountant, and from lenders, insurers, credit reference agencies, fraud prevention agencies and public records such as the electoral roll and Companies House.
How we use it and why we are allowed to
Data protection law says we must have a lawful reason for each use of your information. We use it:
- to give you advice and arrange mortgages, insurance and finance, because this is needed to provide the service you asked for
- to check your identity and prevent fraud and money laundering, because the law requires it
- to keep records and deal with complaints, because our regulator requires it
- to review the quality of our advice and improve our service, because we have a legitimate interest in doing so
- to answer an enquiry you send through this website, because you asked us to
- to send you news or updates, only where you have agreed, and you can stop these at any time
We use health and other special category information only where it is necessary for an insurance purpose allowed under the Data Protection Act 2018, or where you have given your explicit consent.
Who we share it with
We only share what is needed, and only with:
- lenders, insurers and product providers you apply to, and the mortgage clubs we use to reach them
- solicitors, conveyancers and surveyors involved in your case
- credit reference and fraud prevention agencies
- firms that support our business, such as IT, secure storage and compliance providers, who may only use it on our instructions
- our regulators, including the FCA, the Financial Ombudsman Service and the ICO, and the police or courts where the law requires it
We do not sell your personal information.
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you using automated processing alone. Lenders and insurers may use automated credit scoring or underwriting when they assess your application. They will explain this in their own privacy notices.
Transfers outside the UK
We aim to keep your information in the UK. If a provider we use stores it elsewhere, we make sure it is protected to the standard UK law requires, for example through a UK adequacy decision or approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to serve you and to meet our legal and regulatory duties. For most advice and arranging work this is normally six years after our work for you ends, and longer for some protection records where the rules require it. Enquiries that do not go any further are deleted after twelve months.
How we protect it
We use secure systems, access controls and encryption, and we train our team on handling personal information. We will never ask you to send passwords or full bank details by email.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask us to send information you gave us to you or another organisation in a common format
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email dataprotection@verionpartners.com. There is normally no charge. We will reply within one month. Some rights have limits, for example where the law requires us to keep records, and we will explain if that applies.
Cookies
Our cookie policy explains the small amount of information this website stores on your device.
Complaints to the ICO
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We review this policy regularly. When we make a change we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you directly if the change affects how we use your information.
